Fionn mac Cumhaill is a hero in Irish mythology, as well in later Scottish and Manx folklore. He is the leader of the Fianna bands of young roving hunter-warriors, as well as being a seer and a poet. There are many supposed ‘final’ resting places for this legendary character, and one is said to be Tomnahurich hill in Inverness. He lays there with his band of warriors, waiting for the day that they are needed once again.
